SCiO’s Development Days offer an opportunity to draw upon the collective expertise of SCiO members in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. By taking Development Events online, using the Zoom meeting platform, we aim to make them accessible to more SCiO members. Development Events are both for members who are just starting out on a journey to explore Systems Thinking approaches, and for those who have many years of exploration and practice.

This will be a 'special' Development event led by Tony Korycki.

Title: Professional Development, Certification and the Systems Thinking Practitioner

Abstract: The notions of what constitute useful, valued and legitimate forms of professional development for Systems Thinking Practitioners are contested, especially when the norms of a diverse community are challenged by generally accepted practices for competency assessment, certification and accreditation. This special development day will explore, through two links workshop sessions, and in as systemic a way as possible, some of the motivations, mechanisms, mindsets, perspectives, structures, dynamic relationships, and legitimacy issues of the various approaches in play.
